Lamps are an indispensable item for modern home lighting, and different light sources can create different atmospheres. Different lighting sources have their own advantages and disadvantages, and are also suitable for use in different space occasions.

1. Luminous flux
The total amount of light emitted by the light source per unit time, the higher the general power, the higher the luminous efficiency, and the higher the luminous flux
2. Color temperature
When the color of the light emitted by the light source is the same as the color radiated by the blackbody at a certain temperature, the temperature of the blackbody is called the color temperature of the light source.
3. Color rendering
The average lifespan of the light source to the true color of the object, a batch of light sources are lit at the same time, and when 50% of the light sources fail, it is the average lifespan of this batch of light sources.
4. Light efficiency
Different light sources consume the same amount of power at the same time, and how much light they emit. Light sources with high light efficiency must save more power than those with low light efficiency.
5. Strobe
The number of times the light source flashes per second, the higher the strobe, the greater the adverse impact on vision.

Classification of lighting sources
1. Incandescent lamp
The biggest drawback of incandescent lamps is their short lifespan, which is generally between 3,000 and 4,000 hours. Some poor-quality incandescent lamps can only be used for 1,500 hours. Incandescent lamps in homes are often used in dining rooms, bedrooms, and other spaces, making them look more comfortable.
2. Tungsten halogen lamp
Metal halogen lamps are actually a kind of incandescent lamps, with a lifespan of generally between 3,000 and 4,000 hours and no more than 6,000 hours. This lamp can be used for key lighting, such as to highlight decorative paintings on the wall, interior ornaments, etc., it can be illuminated with a cold light cup, and the white light of the lamp can be changed according to different home decoration styles, in line with fashion.
3. Fluorescent lamps
Energy saving: About 60% of the energy consumed by fluorescent lamps can be converted into ultraviolet light, and the rest is converted into heat. The efficiency of converting ultraviolet light into visible light is generally about 40%.
Therefore, the efficiency of fluorescent lamps is about 60% x 40% = 24% - about twice that of tungsten lamps of the same power.
4. Energy-saving lamps are popular because of energy conservation. A 9-watt energy-saving lamp is equivalent to a 40-watt incandescent lamp. Energy-saving lamps also have a long lifespan, generally 8,000 to 10,000 hours. After a period of normal use of energy-saving lamps, the lamp will dim, mainly due to the loss of phosphor, which is technically called light attenuation. Some high-quality energy-saving lamps have invented constant brightness technology, which can keep the lamp in the best working condition for a long time. After 2000 hours of use, the light attenuation is less than 10%.
5. LED lights
The scientific name of this lamp is Light Emitting Diode, which is a new technology. The white LED lamps on the market now have better performance, but the current LED lamps still need to be improved in technology.

What light source is used for home improvement lamps?
1. LED lights
LED lights have the advantages of small size, low power consumption, long life, non-toxic and environmentally friendly. The disadvantage is that it needs constant current drive, and it is easy to light fade if the heat dissipation treatment is not good. The light efficiency is relatively low, and the color will be lacking.
Lost.
2. Energy-saving lamps
Energy-saving lamps have the advantages of being small in size, saving energy, and having a longer lifespan than incandescent lamps. The disadvantage is that the color rendering index is low, and things will change color seriously: fragile eyes and mercury are added, which pollutes the environment. The ballast generates a certain amount of electromagnetic radiation when it generates instantaneous high pressure.
3. Fluorescent lamps
Also known as fluorescent lamps, the advantages are energy saving and many colors. The disadvantage is that the color rendering is relatively poor, and harmful elements such as mercury are harmful to the environment. In addition, ultraviolet radiation and stroboscopic damage the eyes.
4. Halogen lamp
Commonly known as lamp cup, cup lamp, spotlight, in the bulb injection of halogen gas such as iodine or bromine, at high temperatures, sublimated tungsten wire and halogen chemical interaction, the cooled tungsten will re-solidify on the tungsten wire, forming a balanced cycle. Simple, low cost, easy to adjust and control the brightness, good color rendering. The disadvantage is short service life, low luminous efficiency, the filament is prone to failure at high temperatures for a long time.
5. Incandescent lamps
It is composed of tungsten wire, glass bulb and lamp holder. The advantage is that the color rendering of all lamps is the best, it is the closest to natural light, and the price is very cheap. The disadvantage is that it consumes a lot of power and has a short life. Most of the electricity is used for heating, and the performance is low. Now it has been basically eliminated by the market.

White or yellow for lighting?
If it is used for office work, it is best to choose warm light; because warm light is more suitable for the eyes and less dazzling.
If it is a desk lamp similar to a bedside lamp, only cold light is required; because most cold-lit desk lamps are cheaper, and bedside lamps are less likely to be used.
Finally, the child's learning, this is the best to spend some money to buy a more expensive eye protection desk lamp, but now many eye protection desk lamps are cold light, I suggest buying warm light.
Is it better to choose cold light or warm light for the eyes when studying LED lamps?
Positive white 4000~ 4500K or warm white 3000~ 3500K are good. Because LED is not a full-spectrum light source, from a spectral point of view, the color temperature is low, and the proportion of the blue spectrum will be smaller. We will not discuss whether blue light is harmful to the eyes (currently this statement is not the same in the industry, and I personally prefer to say harmless), but if your eyes are exposed to blue light for a long time, it is very easy to cause visual fatigue. Therefore, it is better to choose a smaller proportion of blue light, positive white or warm white.
