We're hardwired to prefer light over darkness, which makes a table lamp or accent lighting a good thing for most people. I personally love a good accent light. A nice warm glow where there might otherwise be none. And this lamp allows for light even where there are no power outlets - in the middle of a room, on a table or shelf with no good access to power even if outlets are nearby, outside on a patio table, etc. - offering complete flexibility in placement.
This particular lamp is very attractive and is solidly built. It's stable and will not tip over easily. The shade angle is adjustable which could be useful in some situations.
I'm impressed with the battery being inside the shade instead of the base. I mean, I get it. It's a good idea so that there doesn't have to be any electrical connection between the base and the shade (very good for lean manufacturing, packaging, shipping, etc.). I like the idea, too, because it's one way to prevent overcharging and damaging the battery from being plugged in all the time. There are scenarios, I'm sure, where people will use this lamp near power outlets, and in those cases they might think it's a good idea to have the lamp plugged in all the time. Nope. That would overcharge and ruin the battery. It's also a good idea because it makes the base look awesome, with no switches, buttons or charging ports. So it's a very ingenious design for multiple reasons.
The three lighting modes provide different color temperatures, ranging from warm to cool. I prefer the warmest setting.
This lamp has definitely improved the look of our living room coffee table and creates a nice ambience in the evening. I'm very impressed.
