I got the light to replace a dated light fixture over my wet bar. I love the look of the light, it works VERY well with the new dimmable bulbs and looks really good with a edison bulb. Also available in amber, I think the amber might work better with a lot of the white LED bulbs, but my spouse wanted the smoke, and that looks good too. I like that the length of the fixture can be changed, but there's a few details missing in both the description and the enclosed documentation. Changing the length becomes a bit of a DIY project, maybe a bit much for some people. First, the fixture can only be shortened and when shortening, it's permanent. At the ceiling collar, there is a set screw that clamps down on the cord. You loosen the set screw and shorten the hanging cord. I included a closeup of the set screw at the ceiling collar. The hanging cord has a cloth braided outside covering that has to be cut back in addition to the 2 layers of standard cable insulation. I had a hard time cutting the outside braided cloth cleanly and ended up using a small flame (a match) to melt the 'plastic' cable braid (it's probably a nylon or rayon or something like that) to clean it up and to stop it from unraveling. You can see my 'cut' braided cloth covering detail in my photo. On the inside of the ceiling collar, the cable has a sharp bend through an additional locking clip, you also want to work that loose and reposition it for the shortened cable length. It probably sounds like a lot more work than it really is, but a little 'handy' is needed to take care of it. Love the lamp, very happy I got it, really, no down side to it.
